Guest Speakers Via Skype
July 27th, 2010
Just about any TED talk is secured to be at least inspiring if not also useful. When you get some of the power’s brightest and most passionate speakers and tell them they have 17 minutes to tell you something important, you can usually excavate up a gemstone or two.
What strikes me down this video is how much technology the schoolteacher casually and fluently uses in his classroom of 4th graders. I just necessity to sit this guy down respecting an hour and come across out what possessed him to take his first steps with educative technology. And then, when it didn’t magnum opus smoothly the oldest (or 10th!) age, what gave him the persistence to keep on??
But, at any classification, listen closely to the conclude of this video and recognize how he casually talks about collaborating with a school on the other side of the in the seventh heaven via Skype!
I do technology shore up at a college, and I grasp if a 4th grade guide, teaching a class of “at risk” students, can do a lesson to a classroom in (where was it, Australia??) in true conditions, why couldn’t we do the unvarying?
Think roughly it … you could have an expert in a field “come” to the classroom to talk about his or her probe without having to assume in default how to go for travel arrangements! We could harangue seminars with the unexcelled teachers and researchers in a specialty from down the highway … or from another country.
If you could drink someone, anyone, come to your classroom to give a awarding – who would it be?? intone ' ….
